A Practical Public Library

I have always loved libraries as practical buildings with room for aesthetic and design expression. I personally work at a library, and seeing how they function, I felt inspired to design one myself.

My time working and studying at my University’s library gave me important context and information about the design choices, layout and facilities a library needs.

Sunshine Library

This project explores designing a library again while refining and advancing my aesthetic concepts and expanding architectural principles from the last design. Combining a rigid inner structure with an organic wrap-around extension flowing across the ground floor, this design is meant to maximize pleasing study space while maintaining the practical facilities needed in a library.

Habitat By The Ocean

I wanted to explore my fascination with natural light and the connection with the outdoors by including a large, breathable interior for an inviting extension of the oceanside.

The In and Out House

This residential work explores creating a house in which its inhabitant might spend as much time outside as inside while maintaining complete privacy. Home living often sees one inside for a majority of the time and this design redefines homelife as being a blended experience of interior and exterior living.

This design was an exploration into using negative space for creating an open, airy and habitat-like home by the beach.

With a perimeter garden wall and internal courtyards, a day in this household might flow in and out of its walls.
